About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position offering exceptional work-life balance with a 4-day working week and no out-of-hours duties. You’ll join Hale Veterinary Group’s Chippenham Hospital, a busy, progressive practice recognised as a tier 3 Veterinary Hospital and ISFM Cat Friendly Practice gold award winner. The practice is equipped to an exceptionally high standard, enabling you to work on genuinely interesting cases across advanced soft tissue, orthopaedic surgery, and diagnostic procedures.

You’ll be part of a close-knit, diverse nursing team that’s passionate about clinical excellence and invested in developing the next generation of veterinary nurses. This is a role where your enthusiasm and “can-do” attitude will be valued, and your desire to mentor junior staff is actively encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional nursing care as part of the hospital’s nursing team
  • Support advanced surgical procedures including soft tissue and orthopaedic cases
  • Assist with diagnostic imaging (digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy including bronchoscopy and gastroscopy)
  • Contribute to the development and mentoring of student and junior veterinary nurses
  • Work collaboratively within a specialist hospital environment
  • Support the practice’s commitment to high standards of animal welfare and clinical care

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
  • Commitment, drive, and a passion for the profession
  • A collaborative team mindset with strong communication skills
  • Interest in mentoring and supporting junior nursing staff (advantageous)

About the Practice

Hale Veterinary Group’s Chippenham Hospital is an expanding, progressive hospital-based practice with tier 3 Veterinary Hospital status and ISFM Cat Friendly Practice gold award accreditation. The facility is exceptionally well-equipped, featuring direct digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, laparoscopy, video endoscopy (including bronchoscopy, gastroscopy, and rigid endoscopy), and an in-house laboratory with dedicated lab technician support. The practice regularly performs advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery in-house.
