🕐 Schedule & Rota

This is a standard weekday/Saturday role with no overnight or out-of-hours on-call requirements. Schedule: Monday 10am–6:30pm, Wednesday 9am–6:30pm, plus 1 in 4 Saturdays 8am–4:30pm (19 hours per week).

About the Role

This is a part-time position (19 hours per week) at a leading small animal referral hospital dedicated to specialist rehabilitation and physiotherapy. You’ll work Monday 10am–6:30pm, Wednesday 9am–6:30pm, plus one Saturday in four (8am–4:30pm), giving you flexibility whilst contributing to a busy, rewarding service.

Hamilton Specialist Referrals is a purpose-built veterinary hospital operating 24/7, offering advanced diagnostic and treatment options including MRI, CT, and radiography. The rehabilitation facility is exceptional, and you’ll collaborate with veterinary surgeons, nurses, and owners to deliver coordinated recovery plans for orthopaedic, neurological, and medical cases. Your focus will be helping patients regain mobility and quality of life following surgery, injury, or illness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver hydrotherapy and physiotherapy treatments to inpatients and outpatients within the rehabilitation service
  • Work closely with clinicians and veterinary nurses to develop and implement coordinated patient care plans
  • Monitor patient progress, adapt rehabilitation plans, and communicate recovery outcomes with owners
  • Manage daily hydrotherapy water quality, maintain equipment and stock levels, and ensure treatments are accurately recorded and charged
  • Provide clear guidance and aftercare advice to pet owners
  • Collaborate within the wider rehabilitation team to support service development and best practice

Requirements

  • BSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy
  • Minimum Level 3 Hydrotherapy qualification in Small Animals
  • Demonstrable experience performing hydrotherapy and physiotherapy in small animals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with colleagues and pet owners
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently with strong organisational skills
  • Commitment to patient safety and high standards of care
  • Experience within a veterinary referral centre is desirable but not essential
