About the Role

This is a part-time fixed-term contract (10 months) offering a varied and rewarding nursing position with no out-of-hours responsibilities. You’ll work 30 hours per week across Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday shifts, with a mix of nurse consultations, inpatient care, theatre work, anaesthesia, and support for surgical and medical cases. The exact balance of duties and rota pattern can be tailored to your interests and experience.

You’ll be based at Holmefield Veterinary Clinic’s recently extended and upgraded main premises in Brayton, a semi-rural village in North Yorkshire offering an excellent lifestyle balance. Selby is just minutes away with regular direct trains to London, Manchester, and Leeds, and York is only 20 minutes’ drive away.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering nurse consultations for routine and complex cases
  • Managing inpatient care and post-operative recovery
  • Theatre and anaesthesia support, including monitoring and record-keeping
  • Assisting veterinary surgeons with surgical and medical procedures
  • Maintaining high standards of patient care in a cat-friendly accredited practice
  • Contributing to the supportive nursing team across the main site and branch practice in Sherburn-in-Elmet

Requirements

  • Current RVN registration
  • Enthusiasm and compassion for patient and client care
