Inglis Vets, Polbeth
Apply before: Mar 11, 2026
You’ll take on a senior nursing position at Inglis Vets’ Polbeth branch, a one-vet practice within a larger group of eight branches across Fife and Central Scotland. This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover role lasting 15 months, working four days per week (40 hours) with set shifts between 8:30am–6:30pm, Monday to Friday. One day per week will be spent at the sister branch in Corstorphine. The best part? There’s no out-of-hours cover here—a dedicated night team in Dunfermline handles all emergency work, so your evenings and weekends are genuinely yours.
Your role will span surgical and anaesthetic nursing, inpatient care, nurse clinics, stock management, and health & safety compliance. As a senior team member, you’ll also help drive the practice forward and mentor the development of the Polbeth team, making this ideal for an experienced RVN looking for their next step in a supportive environment.
Inglis Vets is a busy, well-established veterinary hospital group with eight branches and one main hospital across Fife and Central Scotland. The group is committed to delivering outstanding patient care and providing their own out-of-hours service, ensuring continuity of care around the clock. The Cowdenbeath branch is a recognised clinical training centre for Edinburgh RDSVS veterinary students, and several branches are RCVS-approved training practices, reflecting the group’s strong commitment to education and clinical excellence.
Modern facilities across the group include digital X-ray, advanced ultrasound, multi-parameter monitoring, capnography, laparoscopy and endoscopy suites, dedicated cat-only waiting and consultation rooms, and fully equipped in-house laboratories. The nursing team comprises over 30 registered veterinary nurses working collaboratively across the group. Additional specialist support includes visiting orthopaedic, ophthalmology, and dermatology specialists. Learning and development are central to the culture, with vets and nurses actively pursuing additional qualifications and certificates.
