No out-of-hours shifts, Sundays, or bank holiday work required. Role includes alternate Saturday shifts as part of standard 40-hour week.
You’ll be joining Kingston Veterinary Group’s Park Street Hospital in Hull, a thriving Tier-3 veterinary hospital that blends first-opinion and referral work. This is a structured full-time role working 40 hours across four 10-hour shifts per week (alternate Saturdays included), with no out-of-hours, Sundays, or bank holiday commitments. Hull offers a genuine quality-of-life advantage: lower cost of living, a vibrant city centre with marina development, and easy access to the Yorkshire coastline—all within walking distance of the hospital from the train and bus stations.
The practice operates across multiple branches with a substantial team of 40 vets and RVNs, meaning you’ll never feel unsupported. Advanced facilities include colour doppler ultrasound, CT, MRI, digital radiography, endoscopy suites, laparoscopy, and a dedicated two-suite dental branch. The team includes certificate holders in diagnostic imaging, small animal medicine, dentistry, and oral surgery, so learning opportunities are built into every shift.
This is genuinely tailored support: no sole charge shifts until you’re confident, regular check-ins with your line manager and designated mentor, adjusted appointment lengths to suit your pace, and a clear plan for surgical progression. Mentorship comes from your assigned mentor, line manager, and senior vets across the practice—this hospital has a proven track record of growing new graduates into confident clinicians.
Kingston Veterinary Group operates a multi-branch network across Hull, anchored by the accredited Tier-3 Park Street Hospital. The practice uniquely combines first-opinion and referral services, providing exposure to the full spectrum of small animal medicine and surgery. The team—40 vets and RVNs strong—includes specialists with certificates in diagnostic imaging, small animal medicine, and dentistry & oral surgery. The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities: colour doppler ultrasound, CT and MRI scanning, digital radiography, full laboratory capabilities (including lactate, ionised calcium, coagulation analysis, and slit lamp), endoscopy with multiple scopes, and laparoscopy. A dedicated dental branch houses two complete surgical suites and handles all practice dentistry. The practice is part of IVC Evidensia, part of Mars Veterinary Health, and operates a formal Graduate Academy programme with a strong culture of mentoring newly qualified vets.
