🕐 Schedule & Rota

One in four Saturdays, 8am to 2pm (part of typical 4-day working week for full-time role)

About the Role

You’ll be joining Kingswood Vets, a well-established practice that genuinely believes in flexibility and work-life balance. This is a completely customisable role where you can shape the position around what you enjoy most—whether that’s a balanced mix of medicine and surgery, or a heavily surgery-focused caseload. A typical full-time role is 40 hours per week across four days, with one in four Saturdays from 8am to 2pm, though both full-time and part-time arrangements are welcome.

The practice sits in the heart of Woking, a fantastic location with easy access to Surrey Hills walks, RHS Garden Wisley, and London Waterloo (just 30 minutes by train). You’ll work with a mix of well-insured clients who want the very best for their pets, alongside rewarding charity work with the RSPCA and other organisations.

  • Provide high-quality small animal veterinary care across medicine and/or surgery (depending on your preference)
  • Work collaboratively with the team at the main Woking hospital and sister branch in Chertsey
  • Contribute to a caseload that may include preventative care, diagnostics, surgical procedures, and dental work
  • Engage with the local community and charitable partnerships

Requirements

  • Qualified veterinary surgeon registered with the RCVS
  • Small animal experience (no specific experience level stated—all applicants encouraged to apply)
  • Professional approach to clinical practice and animal welfare

Benefits

  • Salary: Up to £70,000 depending on experience, plus relocation allowance up to £5,000 and welcome bonus up to £5,000
  • Leave & Wellbeing: 6.6 weeks’ holiday including bank holidays, plus your birthday off; private medical insurance; 24/7 confidential Employee Assistance Programme

  • Professional Development: £1,250 CPD allowance plus 40 hours paid CPD annually; access to world-leading IVC Evidensia Training Centres; Vetlexicon online resources; certificate and advanced learning support
  • Care Fund: £1,250 annual Care Fund for every vet
  • Professional Memberships: BVA membership, VDS cover, and RCVS fees covered
  • Colleague Perks: Cycle to Work and Green Car schemes (eligibility applies); retail discounts and cashback offers; reduced-cost veterinary care for your own pets

About the Practice

Kingswood Vets is a long-standing practice at the heart of the Woking community. In 2018, the team relocated into a purpose-built hospital with excellent facilities: four consultation rooms, two theatres, dental and imaging suites, and separate dog and cat wards. The practice operates as a two-site operation, with the main hospital in Woking and a sister branch in Chertsey.

As part of IVC Evidensia, Kingswood Vets is committed to diversity, equality, inclusion and belonging. The practice is a Disability Confident Employer and welcomes candidates from all minority and diverse groups.
