About the Role

Lime Tree Vets is a busy first opinion and referral hospital in Staffordshire that combines high-quality primary care with specialist referral services and a strong teaching culture. You’ll join a clinical team delivering care across an impressive range of cases in a modern, well-equipped environment. This full-time role works 40 hours over 4 days, Monday to Friday between 7am and 7pm on a rota basis—with no out-of-hours or weekend requirements, supported by an external emergency provider.

The practice recently refurbished a branch surgery into a dedicated feline clinic, proudly accredited as an ISFM Gold Cat Friendly Clinic. You’ll have exposure to inpatient care, theatre work, nurse clinics, and referral cases, with opportunities to develop skills in anaesthesia, imaging, and client communication while supporting the teaching environment for student nurses and veterinary students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standards of nursing care across first opinion and referral caseloads
  • Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
  • Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
  • Run and support nurse clinics, contributing to preventative healthcare and client education
  • Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team to maintain clinical standards
  • Contribute to the development of patient care protocols and support student nurses and veterinary students

Requirements

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
  • Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
