About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to join Calder Vets in Denby Dale as a full-time veterinary surgeon focused entirely on daytime consultations. You’ll work 40 hours over four days with a manageable 1:4 weekend rota (daytime only) – and crucially, no overnight on-call commitments. • Highly experienced and confident across all areas of first-opinion small animal practice
  • Excellent communication skills and genuine passion for client care
  • Strong team ethos with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Flexibility – the practice is open to flexible hours for the right candidate

  • Work-life balance: 40-hour weeks over four days, daytime-only weekend rota, no overnight on-call
  • Salary & welcome: Up to £60,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus £2,000 welcome bonus
  • Leave: 5 weeks’ holiday plus bank holidays and birthday leave
  • Professional support: RCVS and VDS fees paid; extensive internal and funded external CPD; certificate support and funding actively encouraged
