About the Role

This is a specialist cardiology position within a well-established referral hospital setting. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team, taking on complex cardiac cases and contributing to a culture of clinical excellence. Based in Winchester, this full-time permanent position welcomes board-certified specialists and residency-trained clinicians eager to make an impact in a dynamic referral practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with cardiovascular diseases, including echocardiography, ECG interpretation, and interventional procedures
  • Collaborate with internal medicine, surgery, and anaesthesia teams to ensure comprehensive patient management
  • Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to interns, residents, and nursing staff
  • Communicate clearly with clients about diagnoses, treatment options, and prognoses
  • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Engage in continuing professional development and stay current with advancements in veterinary cardiology

Requirements

  • Board Certification in Cardiology (ECVIM or ACVIM) OR completion of a recognized cardiology residency programme
  • Proven clinical experience managing complex cardiac cases
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to client care and team collaboration
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced referral hospital environment

Desirable

  • Experience with interventional cardiology procedures (pacemaker implantation, balloon valvuloplasty)
  • Interest in teaching and mentoring veterinary professionals
  • Research involvement or willingness to contribute to clinical studies
