Orthopaedic Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

You’ll be joining Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists, a prestigious multidisciplinary referral hospital serving the South of England, including London and the Thames Valley. This is a specialist orthopaedic nursing position within their dynamic referral nursing team, working on-site with daytime hours on an annualised basis.

Your day-to-day work will involve patient admission and assessment, supporting advanced diagnostic imaging, delivering excellent inpatient care, and assisting specialists through surgical procedures and advanced techniques. You’ll be part of a highly skilled team of RVNs and Patient Care Assistants, many holding postgraduate qualifications, all committed to exceptional patient outcomes. The hospital provides a structured 8-week induction programme to help you settle and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Admit and assess patients requiring orthopaedic care
• Support patients through diagnostic imaging procedures
• Provide high-quality inpatient nursing care
• Assist specialists during orthopaedic surgery and advanced procedures
• Work collaboratively with a specialist-led referral team and wider nursing staff
• Contribute to clinical research and teaching opportunities where applicable

Requirements

• Current RVN (Registered Veterinary Nurse) qualification
• Experience or strong interest in specialist orthopaedic nursing (specific experience not essential)
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Professional attitude and commitment to patient welfare
