About the Role

This is a fixed-term maternity cover position with genuine flexibility: choose full-time (41.25 hours per week) or part-time (26 hours per week) to suit your lifestyle. Based at Lynwood Veterinary Group’s Wimborne branch, you’ll enjoy the rare privilege of no out-of-hours shifts or bank holiday cover—allowing you to maintain proper work-life balance whilst working in one of Dorset’s most beautiful market towns.

You’ll work with a varied caseload drawn from both rural and urban clients, giving you plenty of scope to develop your nursing skills across ops and consults. The practice is RCVS-accredited and operates modern facilities with an experienced clinical team. In-house emergency and critical care is provided via Vets Now, so you’ll be part of a wider supportive network.

Wimborne itself is a charming historic town just 8 miles from Bournemouth and Poole, offering excellent transport links whilst maintaining that peaceful, community-focused atmosphere. The Jurassic Coast and countryside are on your doorstep.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality veterinary nursing care across surgical and consultation settings
• Support the clinical team in delivering patient care to the practice’s small animal clientele
• Contribute to the training and mentoring of Student Veterinary Nurses within the practice
• Work collaboratively within a 5-branch group structure with access to wider clinical expertise and resources
• Maintain professional standards as an RCVS-accredited practice

Requirements

• Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
• Reliable, enthusiastic approach with genuine passion for patient care
• Comfortable and confident working in both surgical and consultation environments
• Ability to thrive in a supportive, collaborative team setting
• Professional, compassionate communication skills
