About the Role

This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced veterinary surgeon ready to step up and shape the clinical direction of a thriving small animal practice. You’ll work across four days per week with manageable 1:3 Saturday mornings, giving you genuine work-life balance alongside meaningful clinical responsibility. Based in Kidderminster’s vibrant town centre, Maggie and Marlow Vets offers the rare combination of a modern, purpose-built 4,000 sq ft facility and a truly collaborative team culture.

Your role will see you drive clinical governance, mentor the nursing and veterinary team, and collaborate with the Practice Manager on rota planning and team wellbeing. You’ll have full access to state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical equipment, including dual operating theatres, dedicated dental and ultrasound suites, in-house laboratory facilities, and a calm, spacious environment designed for both pets and their owners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to the veterinary and nursing team
  • Drive clinical governance and ensure protocol compliance across the practice
  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager on rota planning, staffing, and team wellbeing initiatives
  • Deliver high-standard patient care and client service across all small animal cases
  • Foster a positive, supportive team culture built on empathy and collaborative working
  • Work alongside the Clinical Nurse Manager and experienced nursing staff in a dedicated 4-person clinical team

  • Confident, experienced Veterinary Surgeon with strong clinical leadership skills
