About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Mansion Hill Veterinary Practice, a well-equipped small animal clinic in the heart of Banbury’s charming market town. You’ll work across a varied caseload including consultations and surgeries with dogs, cats, rabbits, and small furries, with routine procedures such as spays, castrates, lump removals, and dentals forming the backbone of your week. The role is completely free of out-of-hours commitments—you’ll join our 1:3 Saturday morning rota (8:30am–12:30pm), leaving your evenings and weekdays genuinely yours. Whether you choose full-time across four or five days or part-time hours, this role adapts to your lifestyle without compromising on clinical engagement or professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive small animal veterinary care across consultations, surgeries, and emergency cases
  • Perform routine surgical procedures including spays, castrates, lump removals, and dental work
  • Work collaboratively with three experienced RVNs, a veterinary care assistant, and practice manager to deliver high-quality patient and client care
  • Contribute to the practice’s commitment to community outreach, working with partners such as Blue Cross, Cats Protection, and the RSPCA
  • Participate in the wider IVC Evidensia network, accessing peer support and specialist guidance from neighbouring practices
  • Develop clinical interests and expertise with mentorship and resources from the practice and corporate network

Requirements

  • Qualified veterinary surgeon registered with the RCVS
  • Experience in small animal practice (level of experience not specified—applications from all backgrounds welcome)
  • Collaborative approach to teamwork and patient care
  • Strong communication skills with clients and colleagues

About the Practice

Mansion Hill Veterinary Practice is a well-equipped small animal clinic in Middleton Cheney, Banbury, designed to support high-quality veterinary care. The practice features three consult rooms (one dedicated to nurse clinics), a dedicated operating theatre and prep area, separate X-ray room, ultrasound, dental X-ray, and laparoscopic equipment. The team includes three registered veterinary nurses, a veterinary care assistant, two receptionists, and a practice manager, supported by a regular, reliable group of locums.
