Join a thriving three-site small animal practice in scenic Ayrshire where work-life balance isn't just promised—it's built into the rota. Saturday mornings only, no out-of-hours chaos, and a genuinely supportive team of 16 RVNs ready to back you up.

🕐 Schedule & Rota

1 in 4 Saturday morning rota (8:30am–1:00pm only). No night shifts or on-call duties.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join MBM Vets’ dedicated Small Animal team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll be working across three modern, well-equipped practices based in Kilmarnock, Beith, and Mauchline—all within the beautiful Ayrshire region, close to the coast with easy access to Glasgow and Central Scotland.

Your only Saturday commitment is a straightforward 1 in 4 rota covering 8:30am to 1:00pm—no night shifts, no on-call duties, and no out-of-hours responsibilities. The practice is genuinely open to part-time arrangements and alternative working patterns if that suits your lifestyle better.

Ayrshire itself is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with opportunities for equine sports, cycling, hill-walking, water activities, and golf—ideal if you’re looking to escape the hustle without sacrificing professional development.

About the Practice

MBM Veterinary Group is a long-established, forward-thinking practice rooted in over a century of Ayrshire veterinary tradition. Born from the 2014 merger of McKenzie Bryson & Marshall (founded 1913) and Barr & MacMillan (established 1957), the group now operates three modern facilities across Kilmarnock, Beith, and Mauchline. Each site has been thoughtfully upgraded with purpose-built extensions and contemporary surgical facilities, including a dedicated equine clinic with in-patient areas.

The practice employs 20 veterinary surgeons, 16 RVNs, 4 ANAs, and 14 reception staff, delivering comprehensive small animal, equine, and farm animal services. The team includes specialists in Cardiology and Surgery, with others pursuing further qualifications in Surgery and Internal Medicine. MBM is part of IVC Evidensia (Mars Veterinary Health), giving access to academy training and referral networks whilst maintaining its independent, community-focused ethos and traditional values.
