Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

Join the friendly reception team at Bedworth Heath Road practice as a Veterinary Receptionist, working 40 hours per week (including some Bank Holidays) on a flexible rota between 8:30am and 7:00pm, with one in six Saturdays at a neighbouring branch. You’ll be the first point of contact for clients, managing appointments, phone calls, and ensuring the practice runs smoothly whilst supporting an experienced team around you.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet clients on arrival, manage check-ins, and maintain accurate practice records
• Handle incoming phone calls, take messages, and respond to client enquiries
• Assess emergency appointment requests and triage their impact on the schedule, contacting clients to reschedule where needed
• Manage the practice diary to optimise appointment availability based on team skillsets
• Ensure online appointment slots remain available for clients to book
• Process repeat prescription orders
• Work collaboratively within a supportive team environment

Requirements

• Strong reception and client-facing skills with a calm, professional manner
• Good numeracy and attention to detail
• Experience using online appointment booking systems
• Ability to prioritise, remain calm under pressure, and adapt to changing demands
• Flexibility and willingness to learn
• Previous veterinary receptionist experience is desirable but not essential
