Veterinary Care Assistant

About the Role

You’ll be at the heart of this busy small animal practice, supporting both the nursing team and vets through surgical procedures, inpatient care, and day-to-day pet welfare. This is a full-time position with no out-of-hours commitment, allowing you to build a sustainable career without the unpredictability of rota work. Based in Greenwich, you’ll work alongside a collaborative team where learning and development are genuinely prioritised.

Your day will blend direct patient care—walking, feeding, and monitoring pets—with supporting surgical teams and delivering exceptional service to clients. You’ll work in a practice that recognises employee wellbeing is just as important as the work itself.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care including monitoring, walking, toileting, and feeding inpatients
• Support nursing and veterinary teams during surgical procedures and clinical work
• Deliver exceptional client care and maintain professional standards in all interactions
• Work to all regulatory, practice, and operational standards
• Contribute to a collaborative, supportive team environment

Requirements

• Over 18 years of age (required for Health and Safety compliance in this role)
• Genuine passion for animal care and client service
• Ability to prioritise, remain calm under pressure, and adapt to changing demands
• Willingness to learn and develop within a supportive environment
• Team-focused approach to working in a clinical setting
