About the Role

As Head Nurse at this Medivet hospital in St. Neots, you’ll drive exceptional standards across the nursing team whilst building a supportive environment where colleagues thrive. This is a full-time permanent role focused on mentoring, inspiring, and developing RVNs who share your commitment to outstanding patient and client care.

You’ll lead nurse-led appointments and schedule 3 activities, support surgical and procedural work, and manage patient admissions and discharges. Your clinical judgement and leadership will set the tone for the entire nursing operation—balancing regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and genuine pastoral care for both patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical leadership to the nursing team, ensuring exceptional patient and client care across all activities
  • Lead nurse-led appointments, schedule 3 activities, and support consults, surgeries, and procedures while maintaining full regulatory and operational compliance
  • Manage patient monitoring, admissions, discharges, and clinical care pathways
  • Inspire, develop, and support nursing colleagues—helping them reach their potential and building a positive team culture
  • Uphold the highest standards of patient safety, regulatory compliance, and practice governance

Requirements

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
  • Proven experience in clinical nursing and team leadership
  • Confident communicator with the ability to lead by example and inspire colleagues
  • Passion for exceptional patient and client care
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
