About the Role

This is a full-time position spanning two friendly, close-knit small animal practices in Pontefract and South Elmsall, with strong clinical links to a fully equipped 24-hour hospital in Dearne Valley. You’ll work across both sites as part of collaborative teams who genuinely prioritise exceptional patient and client care alongside staff wellbeing.

The role operates on a 40-hour week compressed into four 10-hour days, with a 1:6 weekend rota at Dearne Valley 24-Hour Hospital. This structured schedule means you get proper downtime during the week while sharing out-of-hours commitments fairly across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional patient care through nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities, supporting consultations, surgeries and procedures
• Manage patient monitoring, admissions and discharges in line with regulatory and practice standards
• Provide outstanding client communication and care across both practice sites
• Collaborate within a supportive multi-site team, sharing knowledge and best practice
• Maintain compliance with all RCVS standards and practice protocols

Requirements

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse
• Passion for delivering high-quality patient and client care
• Team player with strong communication skills
• Ability to work flexibly across two sites and contribute to out-of-hours rotas
