About the Role

Medivet’s 24-hour hospital in Southend is seeking a talented Veterinary Surgeon ready to develop their career in a fast-paced, supportive environment. You’ll gain exposure to a diverse caseload and complex surgical procedures, backed by a large, experienced team committed to collaboration and continuous learning. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care during consultations and surgical procedures, maintaining the highest standards of patient welfare
  • Provide clear, compassionate communication with clients regarding treatment plans, progress updates, and care options
  • Develop tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with transparent cost estimates
  • Ensure regulatory, practice, and operational compliance across all clinical activities
  • Mentor and develop nursing and support team members, enhancing their skills and clinical confidence
  • Manage clinical handovers and arrange appropriate transfers for patients requiring out-of-hours or enhanced care
  • Champion clinical best practice across the 24-hour hospital and wider Medivet community
  • Support nurse-led consultations and Schedule 3 procedures, optimising clinic efficiency and performance

Requirements

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
  • Proven experience delivering exceptional clinical care to both patients and clients
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
  • Clinical leadership skills with experience implementing progressive clinical culture
  • Understanding of nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures, and their contribution to practice efficiency
  • Coaching and influencing skills to support and develop colleagues
