About the Role

You’ll be joining the Medivet practice in West Derby, Liverpool as an operating veterinary surgeon on a structured four-day week. This role offers the perfect balance between meaningful clinical work and protected time for yourself—a rare find in modern practice.

This is small animal practice work where you’ll divide your time between consultations and surgical cases, supported by a collaborative team environment. You’ll deliver high-standard patient care while working within a large group that provides genuine backup, continuous learning opportunities, and access to 24-hour hospital facilities across the Medivet network.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-opinion clinical care in consults and theatre to the highest regulatory and practice standards
• Develop individualised treatment plans with clients, balancing clinical excellence with their preferences
• Perform surgical procedures within scope and competence
• Collaborate actively within the practice team, supporting junior staff development where appropriate
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Contribute to the broader Medivet clinical community through shared learning and best practice

Requirements

• Qualified MRCVS or equivalent
• Passion for clinical excellence and client communication
• Team-focused approach with commitment to supportive practice culture
• Ability to work from the West Derby location
