Receptionist

About the Role

You’ll be the first point of contact for clients and their pets at this established first-opinion practice in Medway City (Rochester). This is a permanent, on-site role where you’ll manage the front desk, welcome clients warmly, and keep the practice running smoothly. You’ll work alongside a supportive team dedicated to delivering excellent care to small animals in the local community.

This daytime role offers a structured working environment where no two days are quite the same – from booking appointments and handling enquiries to managing the reception area and supporting the clinical team behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet clients and animals as they arrive, creating a warm and professional first impression
• Manage appointment scheduling and client bookings efficiently
• Handle telephone and email enquiries with patience and product knowledge
• Process payments and manage the reception till
• Support the clinical team by preparing rooms and gathering patient information
• Maintain accurate records and manage client database systems
• Contribute to keeping the reception area clean, tidy, and welcoming

Requirements

• Strong communication skills and a genuine love of animals and people
• Previous reception or customer service experience (preferred but not essential)
• Ability to stay organised and calm during busy periods
• Reliable and punctual with a commitment to teamwork
• Basic computer skills and experience with appointment systems (or willingness to learn)
