About the Role

You’ll be joining Milfeddygon Bodrwnsiwn Veterinary Group’s Mona practice, a thriving mixed animal clinic serving Anglesey, Gwynedd, and Conwy. This is a full-time permanent position with genuine flexibility—you can negotiate a 4- or 5-day week structure to suit your lifestyle, and part-time options are available if preferred.

The practice treats small animals, farm animals, and horses across four locations (Mona, Menai Bridge, Amlwch, and Bangor). You’ll be part of a team that runs its own 24-hour, 365-day emergency service for large animals and equine, and the culture here is built around support, not heroics. Your base will be on the beautiful Mona Industrial Park, with direct access to walking, surfing, and outdoor activities that make this part of North Wales special.

You’ll work one night per week and one weekend in five on a shared OOH rota with other vets—manageable and genuinely collaborative rather than punishing.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-opinion veterinary care across small animals, farm animals, and equine cases
• Work independently and collaboratively within a mixed practice team
• Cover out-of-hours duties on a rota (1 night per week, 1 weekend in 5)
• Work flexibly across the practice’s four sites as clinical needs demand
• Contribute to the practice’s own 24-hour large animal and equine emergency service
• Support junior colleagues and contribute to a collaborative, learning culture

Requirements

• Fully qualified veterinary surgeon (RCVS registered)
• Experience in mixed animal practice or demonstrable willingness to develop skills across small animal, farm, and equine medicine
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work across multiple practice locations
• Availability for shared out-of-hours cover on rota
