The National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) is seeking a qualified Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join its Hertfordshire Rehoming Centre in Watford. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within the animal welfare charity sector, supporting more than 400 animals annually through rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming.
Working Monday to Friday with flexible full-time or part-time options available, you’ll carry out first opinion small animal work in a dedicated veterinary unit. You’ll be supported by a highly experienced registered veterinary nurse.
The National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) operates a licensed veterinary practice within its Hertfordshire Rehoming Centre in Watford. The centre is a critical rescue and rehabilitation facility, providing sanctuary and medical care to over 400 animals each year—from dogs and cats to small mammals—before finding them permanent homes.
The practice is staffed by a dedicated team committed to animal welfare excellence. You’ll work in a supportive environment with experienced nursing staff and a clear mission: ensuring every animal receives compassionate, high-standard veterinary care as part of their journey to recovery and rehoming.
