Ready to lead advanced diagnostic imaging at a thriving specialist referral practice? Join a collaborative team of four imaging clinicians with access to cutting-edge MRI, CT, and ultrasound technology—and actually enjoy the work-life balance to use it.

About the Role

You’ll be joining North Downs Specialist Referrals’ well-established imaging department as a Diagnostic Imaging certificate holder or RCVS Advanced Practitioner. This is a full-time or part-time position offering genuine flexibility to suit your lifestyle.

The practice sits in the Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty—think rolling countryside and village charm—yet you’re just 30 minutes by train from Central London and 20 minutes by car from Gatwick Airport. It’s the sweet spot for those who want rural serenity without sacrificing metropolitan access or international travel options.

You’ll be working in a referral environment with a large, varied caseload supporting over 30 specialists across orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, neurology, ophthalmology, anaesthesia, and dentistry. The imaging team is known for its collegial, supportive environment—many associates are long-term employees because the cooperative, mutually respectful philosophy allows people to genuinely thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and interpret advanced diagnostic imaging including MRI, CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and digital radiography across a diverse specialist caseload
  • Contribute to the imaging team of four clinicians (including board-certified radiologists and an advanced practitioner), three remote radiologists, and four radiographers
  • Collaborate with dedicated imaging nurses and patient care assistants
  • Produce reports in a dedicated reading room integrated with the wider clinician team, balancing communication with a quiet environment for focused work
  • Mentor and support junior imaging staff and radiographers
  • Engage in ongoing clinical education and professional development

Requirements

  • Diagnostic Imaging certificate holder or RCVS Advanced Practitioner qualification
  • Strong diagnostic imaging knowledge and clinical skills
  • Experience with advanced imaging modalities (MRI, CT, ultrasound preferred)
  • Professional registration with the RCVS
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a specialist team environment

Benefits

  • Time Off: 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays plus Birthday Leave
  • Professional Support: RCVS and VDS fees paid; up to two additional professional memberships covered; external CPD fully funded; extensive free online Linnaeus CPD programme
  • Wellbeing: Life Assurance; Enhanced sickness pay; Enhanced equal family leave; Employee Assistance Programme with Mental Health First Aiders across the network; Eyecare voucher scheme; Free annual flu jab
  • Work & Life: Staff discount schemes; E-car salary sacrifice scheme; Cycle to work scheme
  • Growth: Career progression opportunities; Recruitment referral reward scheme
