About the Role

This is your chance to practise nursing the way it should be—varied, supported, and deeply involved in patient outcomes. You’ll move between nurse consultations, wound management, surgical assistance, and diagnostic imaging, building real expertise across every aspect of small animal care. Working full-time across four or five days with zero weekend or out-of-hours commitments, you’ll have genuine breathing room for life outside the practice—and they mean that, with flexibility to adjust your schedule if needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct nurse consultations and manage ongoing patient care independently
  • Perform wound management and post-operative care
  • Assist with surgical procedures and provide perioperative nursing support
  • Operate diagnostic imaging equipment and support diagnostic workups
  • Work collaboratively with three veterinary surgeons, a Head Nurse, two veterinary care assistants, and the Practice Director
  • Develop expertise in Schedule 3 procedures with ongoing support
  • Mentor student veterinary nurses or progress towards a Clinical Coach qualification if interested

Requirements

  • Current RVN registration with the RCVS
  • Hands-on approach to nursing with a genuine interest in patient care
  • Enthusiasm for developing your skills further
