🕐 Schedule & Rota

No out-of-hours shifts. Saturday mornings (8am–1pm) shared on a 2:5 rota with the vet team.

About the Role

Join an experienced veterinary team at Oak Barn Vets, nestled in the picturesque Surrey Hills. This is a permanent full-time position offering a genuinely balanced schedule: 40 hours per week over 3 long days, with Wednesdays off and Saturday mornings (8am–1pm) shared equally across the vet team (currently 2:5 rota). There’s no out-of-hours commitment, making this ideal if you’re seeking stability without the exhaustion of night shifts.

You’ll be working in a beautifully converted beamed barn with modern facilities, ample off-road parking, and a dedicated outdoor space for lunch and team moments. The practice combines clinical excellence with a relaxed, collaborative culture where your professional development genuinely matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality first-opinion small animal veterinary care across a varied caseload
  • Perform surgery, including soft tissue and laparoscopic procedures, supported by the team’s clinical interests
  • Utilise in-house laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasound, and dedicated dental suite with CR dental radiography to inform diagnoses
  • Contribute to the practice’s patient-centred approach and emphasis on preventative healthcare
  • Participate in case management and internal referral pathways, building confidence in niche areas if desired
  • Support the team’s commitment to maintaining and developing clinical standards and gold-standard care

Requirements

  • Experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a strong clinical background
  • Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence and professional development
  • Proactive approach to preventative healthcare and case management
  • Strong communication and collaborative working skills
