About the Role

Paragon Veterinary Referrals is seeking a dedicated RVN to join its diagnostics team in Wakefield. This is a permanent, full-time position offering 40 hours per week with a manageable 1-in-6 late shift rota and 1-in-9 weekend shifts (with days off in lieu). You’ll work within a multi-disciplinary referral hospital that serves first opinion practices across Yorkshire and beyond, equipped with some of the finest medical facilities in the UK.

This role is ideal if you have a particular interest in medical diagnostics and imaging, and want to deepen your skills in CT, MRI, endoscopy, ultrasonography, and radiography. Whether you’re new to referral practice or looking for a fresh challenge, the team provides comprehensive support and training to help you excel in this specialized environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist specialists with procedures, consultations, and inpatient checks
  • Support diagnostic imaging including CT, MRI, endoscopy, and ultrasonography
  • Obtain and process laboratory samples for diagnostic testing
  • Perform in-house diagnostic tests and radiography
  • Monitor patients under sedation and anaesthesia
  • Coordinate workflow with the diagnostic team to ensure smooth daily operations

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
  • Interest in diagnostic medicine and imaging
  • Strong attention to detail and patient care standards
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Previous referral experience not essential – full training and support provided
