Veterinary Receptionist (Maternity Cover)

About the Role

You’ll be joining Park Issa Vets as a full-time Receptionist, covering maternity leave. The role offers a good balance of front-of-house duties across two practice locations: you’ll spend 3 days per week at the branch surgery in Rhos, Wrexham, and 2 days at the main practice in Oswestry. Working 37.5 hours per week with one in four Saturdays, you’ll be part of a friendly team in a modern, well-equipped practice environment that genuinely cares about animal welfare and staff wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage general reception duties including phone enquiries, appointment scheduling, and client communication
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and their pets during busy periods
• Handle administrative tasks including filing, records management, and clinic coordination
• Work flexibly across two practice locations to support both teams
• Maintain a calm, organised approach in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills (essential)
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
• Strong organisational and administrative ability
• Reliable and flexible approach to working across multiple sites
• Professional telephone manner and communication skills

About the Practice

Park Issa Vets is a modern, RCVS-accredited three-tier hospital with locations in Oswestry and Rhos, Wrexham. The newer New Foundry branch in Johnstown (opened 2008, recently relocated to 60 Stryt Las) features thoughtfully designed facilities including two separate waiting rooms for anxious animals, a modern prep room for surgery and minor procedures, separate kennels for dogs and cats to minimise stress, and a spacious garden for exercising in-patients.
