About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to combine hands-on clinical work with strategic leadership in an established, well-supported practice. You’ll lead and mentor a team of 4–5 equine and farm vets at Parkside Veterinary Group’s Dundee branch, based in beautiful Tayside. The role offers genuine autonomy to innovate and expand services whilst benefiting from the resources and support of the wider VetPartners group. With a manageable 1:5 on-call rota, protected time off after nights, and a half-day every week, this position prioritises work-life balance without compromising clinical excellence.

You’ll work closely with three Small Animal Clinical Directors and the Practice Manager as part of the wider practice leadership team, driving business development whilst fostering a positive, forward-thinking culture where your team can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of 4–5 equine and farm vets, supporting their clinical and professional development
  • Drive business development and maintain service quality within the equine and farm department
  • Foster a positive, collaborative culture and shape the direction of the service
  • Work strategically with the Small Animal Clinical Directors and Practice Manager on wider practice decisions
  • Innovate and expand services, with the autonomy to make decisions that reflect your vision
  • Maintain clinical standards and ensure excellent animal care across equine and farm caseloads

Requirements

  • Qualified veterinary surgeon with substantial experience in equine and/or farm animal medicine
  • Proven leadership experience or demonstrated readiness to lead a veterinary team
  • Strong clinical knowledge and passion for equine and farm animal care
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
  • Strategic mindset with business development awareness
