About the Role

Join Parkvets as a Veterinary Surgeon in a supportive, well-resourced small animal environment. This full-time or part-time position offers genuine clinical freedom with a schedule built around your lifestyle. Medicine is the focus here—surgery rotates through just once every two weeks—giving you the opportunity to develop deeper expertise and collaborate with certificate holders across imaging, medicine, surgery, oncology, ophthalmology, exotics, and dentistry. You’ll work a flexible rota with shifts typically structured as 40 hours over 4 days, with early starts (7:30am) and late starts (10:30am) to suit different preferences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality clinical care across small animal general practice, with a focus on medicine
  • Collaborate with the team of certificate holders to ensure optimal clinical outcomes and case management
  • Participate in the rota system, including second-on-call duties and weekend cover (1 in 4)
  • Contribute to the learning culture through case collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Utilise the hospital’s extensive facilities including separate cat, dog, and exotics wards, digital imaging, ultrasound, endoscopy, and laparoscopic equipment
  • Work flexibly across the hospital and branch locations to maintain clinical variety and professional development

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Surgeon (RCVS qualified)
  • Confident, capable GP vet with strong clinical foundation
  • Willing to collaborate and engage with a multidisciplinary team
  • Passionate about delivering high-standard veterinary care
  • Flexible approach to shift patterns and willingness to participate in rota duties
