Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

Parkvets is recruiting a warm, people-focused Veterinary Receptionist to join their Client Care team on a full-time basis. You’ll work 38 hours per week across a 4-day rota with 10-hour shifts, covering a multi-site operation that spans Sidcup, Hayes, Chislehurst, Pettswood, Belvedere, Eltham, Longfield, and Swanley. This role includes regular travel between branches, so a full UK driving licence and reliable vehicle are essential.

You’ll be the first point of contact for clients visiting the practices, creating reassuring experiences during what can sometimes be emotional or stressful situations. Your work will directly support the clinical teams, helping the practice run like clockwork whilst building genuine connections with pet owners who’ll remember your friendly presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet clients warmly and create a positive, reassuring experience at reception across all eight Parkvets locations
• Support clinical teams by managing client flow and ensuring smooth practice operations
• Use practice management systems confidently, alongside Word, Excel, and Outlook for administrative tasks
• Travel between practices to provide consistent client care and support across the Parkvets branch network
• Handle enquiries, bookings, and client communications in a calm, professional manner
• Develop your skills continuously as the practice evolves and introduces new services

Requirements

• Calm, compassionate, and genuinely people-focused approach to client interactions
• Strong organisational skills and ability to stay adaptable in a busy, fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Clear communicator who is patient and confident speaking with both clients and colleagues
• Full UK driving licence and reliable vehicle (essential for multi-site travel)
• Flexibility to work weekends as part of the working rota
• Experience in animal care or veterinary settings is helpful but not essential – a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills matter most
