About the Role

You’ll join MiNightVet Woking as an Out-of-Hours Veterinary Surgeon on a permanent contract, working approximately 10 nights per month. This is an ideal opportunity if you’re drawn to emergency and critical care but value flexibility in your working pattern. Based at Pet Doctors Woking in Surrey, the practice sits within commutable distance of Reading, Guildford, Bracknell, and across Southwest London, Hampshire, and Berkshire.

The team provides first-class emergency care 24/7, treating patients with the same urgency and care they’d give their own pets. You’ll work alongside a dedicated OOH team and have access to well-equipped facilities that enable confident, thorough emergency management. The practice also provides hospitalisation and in-patient care for surrounding practices, giving you exposure to varied and complex cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver emergency veterinary care during night shifts and weekends
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and critical cases presenting to the practice
  • Manage hospitalised patients and in-patient care for referral from partner practices
  • Provide first-contact emergency assessment and stabilisation
  • Work collaboratively with the MiNightVet team to maintain high standards of client communication and patient care
  • Contribute to a supportive OOH culture where colleagues share the on-call responsibility fairly

Requirements

  • Registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)
  • Enthusiasm for emergency and critical care medicine
  • Ability to work independently during night shifts while accessing team support when needed
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to client care
