Veterinary Administrator

About the Role

This is a permanent part-time position working 30 hours across five days, with no weekend or bank holiday commitments. You’ll be based at Pool House’s main Lichfield hospital, supporting the smooth operation of a four-practice group while working alongside the accounts, insurance, and management teams.

The role sits at the heart of the practice, combining day-to-day administration with strategic support. You’ll take on health and safety responsibility across all four branches—a key leadership aspect of the position—alongside PA duties to the practice manager, maintenance of service records, and support for the accounts and insurance teams during peak periods or absences.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the responsible person for health and safety across all four branches of the group
• Day-to-day administration including practice presentation and record maintenance
• Support the practice manager as a personal assistant, covering their duties during absence
• Manage submissions for maintenance jobs and repairs across all four practices in liaison with the practice manager
• Assist with daily cash-up procedures and support the accounts and insurance team with debt management, especially during holidays and sickness cover
• Work collaboratively with accounts and insurance staff to maintain service standards
• Support the smooth running of a busy, multi-site veterinary group

Requirements

• Knowledge of health and safety practices, ideally with NEBOSH certification or other relevant health and safety qualifications
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment as part of a large team
• Experience in the veterinary sector is advantageous but not essential—full training will be provided
• Flexibility and willingness to take on varied responsibilities
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
