Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

You’ll be the first point of contact for clients visiting or calling Provost Vet Group, managing a varied mix of reception and administrative tasks in a busy, friendly environment. This full-time position works 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, with one Saturday in four on a return-in-lieu basis, giving you genuine work-life balance.

The practice operates across three Fife locations (St Andrews, Newport on Tay, and Ladybank). It would be an advantage to have a full UK driving license so that shifts can be undertaken at either of our other 2 sites in Newport or Ladybank if required.

Key Responsibilities

• Booking and managing appointments for clients
• Greeting clients face-to-face and answering phone enquiries
• Processing payments and handling financial transactions
• Administrative tasks supporting the practice operations
• Supporting the clinical team as needed
• Potentially covering reception duties across Provost’s other two Fife sites when required

Requirements

• Previous veterinary reception experience preferred, but not essential
• Reception or client-facing experience is valuable
• Computer literacy and confidence with practice management systems
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise multiple tasks
• Strong team-working skills and a friendly, professional manner
• Full UK driving licence (advantageous for multi-site working)
• Full training provided in health & safety and the practice management system

About the Practice

Provost Vet Group is a friendly, hardworking multi-site practice serving Fife across three locations: St Andrews, Newport on Tay, and Ladybank. The team comprises 8 vets, 7 nurses, and 6 receptionists, treating small animals, farm animals, and equine patients. The practice is part of IVC Evidensia, providing access to wider professional support and development opportunities.
