Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

Join the front-desk team at Putlands Veterinary Surgery, a first opinion practice in the charming town of Paddock Wood, Kent. This is a part-time permanent position offering flexibility with 15–20 hours per week across 2–3 days, Monday to Friday. Your hours can be tailored to suit your schedule, discussed at interview.

You’ll be at the heart of the practice, creating warm and welcoming experiences for clients and their pets every single day. From managing appointments and handling enquiries to processing payments and dispensing medications, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the practice running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer phone calls and book appointments for Putlands practice
• Respond to client queries via phone, email, and in person with empathy and professionalism
• Register new clients and manage client records accurately
• Complete insurance forms and process paperwork
• Dispense medications under appropriate guidance
• Process payments and handle financial transactions
• Welcome clients and pets with genuine warmth, ensuring a positive first impression

Requirements

• Previous receptionist experience is essential; veterinary experience is a bonus
• Resilience and ability to handle emotionally sensitive situations with care
• Excellent communication skills with strong empathy
• Outstanding customer service experience
• Positive attitude and collaborative teamwork approach
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems
• Right to Work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for this clinical support role)
