About the Role

Riverside Veterinary Centre is an established, friendly practice with a genuine focus on collaboration, wellbeing, and development. You’ll be joining the team during an exciting period—the practice is relocating to a newly built facility in Milford, near Belper, equipped with separate dog and cat wards, a dedicated dental suite with digital radiography, multiple theatres, upgraded imaging, in-house laboratory facilities, and a spacious staff environment including a riverside outdoor area. The practice is also planning to pursue Cat Friendly Status certification.

This full-time role offers shifts between 8am and 7pm (40 hours per week), with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings. Flexible rota arrangements are available, making this a role that fits around your life while delivering high-quality nursing care in a supportive, growing practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care across theatre, inpatient, and consultation settings
• Support anaesthesia, surgery, and advanced procedures, including dental imaging
• Run nurse clinics and provide preventative healthcare advice to clients
• Contribute to clinical improvement projects and practice development initiatives
• Support patient care across a varied first opinion small animal caseload (dogs, cats, and small pets)
• Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team to maintain high clinical standards

Requirements

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and effective workload management
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
