About the Role

You’ll be joining a bright, spacious practice in Hornchurch that genuinely cares about both patient welfare and staff wellbeing. This full-time role involves a mixture of early and late shifts Monday to Friday, plus one Saturday shift at the sister practice (Buckhurst Hill Surgery) with a day off in lieu. The team here operates with an open, approachable atmosphere where your voice matters and laughter is part of the culture.

If you love consults, have a real passion for anaesthesia work, and enjoy assisting with surgery, this is a role that will let you focus on what you do best. You’ll be working alongside one experienced vet, another RVN, a student nurse, and a client care assistant—a small enough team to know everyone well, but large enough that you’re never the only one carrying the load.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-standard nursing care across consults, anaesthesia, and surgical assistance
• Support the practice’s small animal caseload with a focus on clinical excellence
• Collaborate with the vet team and fellow RVN to maintain the practice’s clinical standards and family ethos
• Contribute to the wellbeing-focused culture by bringing your strengths and professional voice to the team
• Utilise in-house facilities including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, and laboratory equipment

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS registered)
• Experience in small animal nursing
• Demonstrated passion for anaesthesia and surgical nursing
• Professional, cheerful, and down-to-earth approach to patient and client care
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, supportive team environment
