About the Role

Runnymede Hill Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to become a vital member of a close-knit nursing team in Egham, Surrey. This full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to work across a varied and interesting small animal caseload within a modern, RCVS-accredited facility. You’ll work a guaranteed four-day week (40 hours) with shifts ranging from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm, including one Saturday in four (9:00 am to 2:00 pm) with time off in lieu. Best of all—there are no out-of-hours, Sunday, or Bank Holiday shifts required.

The practice comprises two sites (Runnymede Hill and Chobham Road) and operates with a strong team culture that values collaboration, respect, and continuous professional development. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with a range of surgical and medical procedures, bringing precision and care to theatre work
  • Provide attentive inpatient monitoring and post-operative care to ensure excellent patient outcomes
  • Lead nurse-led clinics and deliver client education on preventative care and health management
  • Support and mentor student nurses, helping shape the next generation of veterinary nursing talent
  • Rotate between theatre, inpatient care, pharmacy, and occasional consultation support shifts
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative working environment across the practice

Requirements

  • Current RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Proven experience working in small animal practice
  • Strong communication skills and compassionate approach to patient and client care
  • Ability to work confidently within a team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to develop professionally and take on mentoring responsibilities
