Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

Runnymede Hill Veterinary Hospital is recruiting a Veterinary Receptionist to join their front-of-house team on a part-time, fixed-term contract of 12 months covering maternity leave. You’ll be the welcoming face and voice of the practice, managing client interactions with professionalism and warmth whilst keeping the reception running smoothly. The role requires a professional demeanor and exceptional phone manner—you’ll be the first point of contact for pet owners and their trusted advisors on queries ranging from insurance to Pet Health Club membership.

This is a flexible schedule role: you’ll work Monday to Friday on either 9 am–12 pm or 4 pm–7 pm shifts, plus every other Saturday from 9 am–2 pm. It’s ideal if you’re looking for structured, predictable part-time hours that fit around other commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer telephone calls and greet clients with a professional, friendly approach
• Manage appointment changes, cancellations, and new bookings
• Handle client payments (card and cash) and complete daily banking
• Liaise with clients on insurance queries, Pet Health Club membership, and personal detail updates whilst maintaining GDPR compliance
• Dispense flea and worm medications
• Complete end-of-day paperwork and ensure all daily tasks are finished
• Report to the Head Receptionist and adhere to all practice reception procedures
• Engage with ongoing training to develop your skills in the role
