Veterinary Receptionist – Part-Time

About the Role

Runnymede Hill Veterinary Hospital is seeking a compassionate and organised Veterinary Receptionist to join their team on a part-time basis. This is a fixed-term contract covering maternity leave for 12 months, offering a fantastic opportunity to work in a well-established, modern small animal practice.

You’ll be working flexible hours across Monday to Friday (either 9am–12pm or 4pm–7pm shifts) plus every other Saturday (9am–2pm), allowing you to balance professional growth with personal commitments. The practice is located in the heart of Surrey and prides itself on delivering outstanding patient care within a collaborative, supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Report to the Head Receptionist and support the smooth running of reception
• Answer telephone calls, greet clients warmly, and manage client enquiries with a professional and friendly approach
• Handle insurance queries, Pet Health Club administration, and update client details in compliance with GDPR
• Process card and cash payments, allocate funds to correct files, and complete daily banking
• Change, cancel, and book appointments efficiently
• Complete daily tasks and prepare end-of-day paperwork
• Dispense flea and worm medication
• Follow all practice and reception procedures to maintain excellent customer service standards
• Engage with ongoing training opportunities to develop your skills

Requirements

• Professional and friendly approach when dealing with clients
• Exceptional telephone manner
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
