Looking for a part-time role where you're genuinely valued as part of the team? Sampson Park Vets is seeking a friendly, organised Receptionist to be the welcoming face of their close-knit Daventry practice—no out-of-hours stress, just great teamwork and flexible hours.

🕐 Schedule & Rota

No out-of-hours or bank holiday shifts required. Very occasional Saturday mornings (8.30am–12pm) with time off in lieu the following week.

About the Role

You’ll be the first person clients meet when they arrive at the practice, setting the tone for their visit. This part-time permanent role (20 hours per week, Mondays and Tuesdays, 8.30am–7pm) sits at the heart of daily operations, supporting both the clinical team and clients through every interaction. Very occasional Saturday mornings (8.30am–12pm) may be required, with time off in lieu given the following week. With no out-of-hours or bank holiday commitments, you’ll enjoy genuine work-life balance in a practice where the team genuinely cares for each other.

Sampson Park Vets is a friendly, four-vet practice nestled just outside Daventry, serving a loyal, welcoming client base. The team of four vets, four nurses, and two support staff work collaboratively in a supportive environment committed to delivering exceptional small animal care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and pets with a professional, compassionate manner
  • Manage appointments, diary scheduling, and client bookings
  • Handle telephone and email enquiries promptly and courteously
  • Process payments and manage cash handling
  • Liaise with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure a positive client and patient journey
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming reception space

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and a naturally welcoming, professional manner
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment
  • Collaborative approach with a willingness to support colleagues
  • Proactive attitude and openness to feedback and learning
