Scarsdale Vets, Alfreton
Apply before: May 20, 2026
No out-of-hours duties; all OOH care provided by Pride Park hospital. Saturday mornings on a 1-in-4 rota (Saturday day work, not overnight).
You’ll be joining Scarsdale Vets’ Alfreton practice as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, working three days per week (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) plus Saturday mornings on a 1-in-4 rota. This 27-hour week offers the perfect blend of clinical variety and work-life balance, with all out-of-hours care handled by the Pride Park hospital—so your evenings and most weekends are genuinely yours.
The role is a mix of theatre and consulting room nursing, where you’ll work alongside a collaborative team of vets, CCAs, and VCAs. Beyond clinical duties, you’ll be involved in stock control, ordering, and maintenance, gaining exposure to the day-to-day running of the practice with full support from the hub management team. This is a well-equipped, purpose-built facility where you’ll work to high clinical standards in a modern environment.
Scarsdale Vets operates one of the largest veterinary networks in the Midlands, with eleven small animal practices across Derby and Burton, a state-of-the-art small animal hospital at Pride Park, and dedicated farm and equine teams serving the East Midlands. Established in the 1940s as a small agricultural practice, Scarsdale has grown significantly while maintaining its commitment to quality care across multiple animal species.
The Alfreton site is a busy, purpose-built facility equipped with three consulting rooms, theatre, x-ray, laboratory, and dental facilities. As part of the IVC Evidensia group and Mars Veterinary Health, the practice offers access to a wider veterinary network and excellent development opportunities, with genuine investment in staff, premises, and processes at the heart of the business.
