Credit Controller

About the Role

You’ll be joining the Administration Department at Pride Veterinary Centre, a busy 24/7 hospital and one of the Midlands’ largest veterinary providers. This role focuses on the financial side of practice operations—managing client accounts, processing invoices, and following up on outstanding payments or insurance claims. It’s full-time, office-based work with straightforward hours: 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week), with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.

The practice is part of Scarsdale Veterinary Group, which operates multiple sites across Derby, Nottingham, and Burton upon Trent, plus dedicated farm and equine facilities. You’ll be working in a busy environment where attention to detail and clear communication with clients are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage monthly client accounts and reconciliation
• Process veterinary invoices received via email or post
• Chase clients for non-payment of veterinary bills
• Follow up on outstanding insurance claims
• Handle client communication via telephone and correspondence
• Maintain accurate records and meet financial deadlines

Requirements

• Minimum 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above, OR at least 1 year’s experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in Windows, Word, and Excel
• Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
• Strong customer service focus
• Ability to work accurately and quickly under pressure
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a busy environment
