About the Role

This is an opportunity for a vet progressing beyond their initial years in practice to step up in a supportive, experienced environment. South Lincs Vet Group handles a diverse and engaging small animal caseload, backed by a team with formal qualifications in emergency & critical care, surgery, orthopaedics, dermatology, internal medicine, and ophthalmology. The practice has successfully mentored multiple graduates and international vets through their professional development.

Based near Boston with excellent road and rail connectivity, the hospital offers a rare blend of clinical breadth and genuine work-life balance. You’ll work across 40 hours over 4 days per week on a 1:8 weekend rota—though the practice is fully flexible and open to discussing arrangements that suit you. The beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds and Norfolk coast are within easy reach, and the cost of living is notably affordable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-standard small animal clinical care alongside an experienced, supportive team of vets, RVNs, SVNs, and ANAs
  • Manage a variety of small animal cases across consulting, surgery, and in-patient care
  • Collaborate with specialists within the practice to broaden your clinical experience in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, dermatology, and ECC
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to ensure excellent patient and client outcomes
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and mentorship opportunities

Requirements

  • RCVS-registered veterinary surgeon
  • 1–2 years of post-qualification experience (new graduates who have completed their first year in practice are welcome)
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within a larger team environment
  • Strong communication skills with clients and colleagues
  • Commitment to high standards of clinical and patient care

About the Practice

South Lincs Vet Group is a recently extended, well-equipped small animal hospital near Boston. Facilities include digital x-ray, CT scanner, ultrasound, video endoscope with laparoscopic capability, four sterile theatres, dental x-ray, ECG, tonopen, slit lamp, Class 4 laser, extensive laboratory including EPOC, spacious kennels, and a large isolation area across seven consulting rooms. The practice is part of IVC Evidensia, a leading UK veterinary group.

The team is built on a culture of support and clinical excellence. Staff are encouraged to pursue postgraduate qualifications, and the practice has a strong track record of developing early-career vets and supporting international veterinarians through their professional exams.
