About the Role

St Kitts Veterinary Centre in Basingstoke is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their modern, well-equipped team. This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week across shifts between 8am and 7pm, with a manageable 1:4 Saturday and 1:8 Sunday rota. The practice is conveniently located in North Hampshire with excellent transport links—less than an hour from the coast and easy access to London, Gatwick, and Heathrow.

You’ll be part of a supportive, vibrant workplace where clinical excellence and client care are genuinely valued. The 3,400 sq ft clinic is equipped with modern facilities including CT scanner, digital X-rays, dual operating theatres, dedicated cat and dog wards, and a comprehensive dental suite. You’ll encounter diverse cases daily: routine consultations, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, exotics, and reptile medicine.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide surgical and clinical nursing support during procedures and consults
• Monitor anaesthesia and patient vital signs throughout procedures
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed
• Deliver in-patient care and manage post-operative recovery
• Perform laboratory tests and process clinical samples
• Maintain accurate, compliant clinical records
• Educate pet owners about aftercare and treatment options
• Maintain clean, organised, and hygienic clinical spaces

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
• Confident and competent in clinical and surgical nursing duties
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a busy clinical environment
• Genuine commitment to patient and client welfare
