About the Role

Tay Valley Vets is recruiting a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its established nursing team at their RCVS-accredited small animal practice in Perth. This is a rotational role working across inpatient care, theatre, pharmacy, and consultations on a weekly rota that includes weekend days and night shifts with compensated time off. The practice is set in Perthshire—voted the 5th best place to live in the UK—making this an excellent opportunity to combine professional growth with genuine lifestyle quality.

You’ll be working as part of a 12-strong nursing team, each with their own specialisms and interests. The practice actively encourages nurses to develop their skills through a structured careers pathway, with many team members progressing to additional qualifications and certificates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient ward care, including monitoring and nursing procedures
  • Support theatre operations and prepare surgical cases
  • Manage pharmacy duties and stock control
  • Assist in nursing consultations with clients
  • Operate and provide hydrotherapy treatments using the practice’s in-ground pool (training provided if interested)
  • Contribute to the physiotherapy and pain management clinics
  • Participate in Schedule 3 procedures as encouraged
  • Support evidence-based clinical practices and contribute ideas for improving patient care and team wellbeing

Requirements

  • Current RVN registration with the RCVS
  • Passion for patient care and commitment to high clinical standards
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a supportive environment
  • Flexibility to work a rotational rota including weekend days and night shifts
  • No minimum experience required—enthusiasm and dedication matter more
