🕐 Schedule & Rota

No out-of-hours on-call required. Saturday morning rota: 1:4 mornings (8am–2pm), with plans to move to 1:5. All shifts are within 7:30am–8pm.

About the Role

This is a full-time registered veterinary nurse position offering genuine flexibility—you’ll work 40 hours across just 4 days per week, with shifts between 7:30am and 8pm, plus a manageable 1:4 Saturday morning rota (8am–2pm, with plans to move to 1:5). Best of all, there’s no out-of-hours on-call commitment, giving you real control over your work-life balance.

You’ll be joining Thanet Vets in Margate, a well-established practice on the Southeast coast that’s been serving the local community for over 60 years. The practice operates from a main branch in Margate and a satellite consulting clinic in Birchington, and is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, endoscopy, and bronchoscopy facilities. The close-knit team values professional excellence alongside genuine camaraderie—they regularly meet outside work for long lunches and socialising.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care across a diverse small animal caseload
  • Support diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and bronchoscopy
  • Work collaboratively within a team of 5.5 veterinary surgeons and 7 registered veterinary nurses
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and professional development
  • Assist with mentoring the incoming student nurse joining the team

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
  • Enthusiasm, kindness, and a collaborative approach to teamwork
  • Excellent communication skills

The team includes 5.5 veterinary surgeons and 7 registered veterinary nurses with diverse experience and specialist interests—team members hold certificates in anaesthesia and analgesia, with ongoing pursuit of qualifications in diagnostic imaging, soft tissue surgery, and ophthalmology. A student nurse will soon join the team.
