About the Role

You’ll join the Small Animal Department at The Minster Veterinary Hospital, a forward-thinking practice serving York and the surrounding area. This full-time position offers a varied shift pattern across seven days a week, with a manageable 1:4 Saturday/Sunday rota and days back in lieu for weekend work. The hospital is well-equipped with modern facilities and a multidisciplinary team that shares a genuine passion for animal welfare and supporting each other.

The practice runs its own out-of-hours service and provides this coverage for other veterinary practices in the region, giving you exposure to diverse clinical scenarios and the opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care across the Small Animal Department, supporting a range of surgical and medical cases
  • Assist with advanced procedures utilising the hospital’s CT scanner and surgical facilities
  • Contribute to nurse-led clinics and consultations
  • Support the out-of-hours service as part of the rota
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver high standards of patient care
  • Maintain RCVS accreditation standards in your clinical practice

Requirements

  • Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts across the week and weekends
  • Ability to work as part of a supportive, collaborative team
