Shared OOH
Ready to shape the future of farm veterinary care in West Wales? Join a strengthened, collaborative three-practice team where you'll have clinical autonomy, shared on-call support, and the freedom to develop specialist interests—all with a coastal lifestyle that actually lets you breathe.

🕐 Schedule & Rota

Shared OOH rota with strong support from experienced colleagues. Specific rota frequency not stated.

About the Role

This is your chance to join a genuinely innovative farm veterinary service across three West Wales practices that are working more collaboratively than ever. Rather than operating in isolation, you’ll be part of a strengthened team sharing caseload, expertise, and on-call cover—creating a genuinely stable and supportive working environment. You’ll enjoy a varied and rewarding caseload spanning dairy, beef, and smallholder work, with the clinical autonomy to work cases properly while always having colleagues available for discussion, support, and second opinions.

The role involves a shared OOH rota with experienced colleagues backing you up, so you’re never managing farm emergencies alone. Based in beautiful West Wales, you’ll benefit from a relaxed coastal lifestyle with excellent outdoor activities, affordable living, and a genuine community feel—ideal whether you’re settling as an individual, couple, or family.

  • Developing specialist interests (such as LAM surgery, mobility work, flock health, calf health, or TBAS) with practice support
  • Contributing to a high-performing, modern farm service across Priory Vets, Steffan Vets, and The Oak Veterinary Group

Requirements

  • A confident and compassionate large animal veterinarian
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to build genuine relationships with farmers and understand continuity of care
  • Interest in contributing to shaping a modern, high-performing farm service
  • New graduates considered with strong mentorship and support offered

  • Health & Wellbeing: Private medical insurance, 24/7 confidential Employee Assistance Programme, enhanced family-friendly leave and pay
  • Professional Development: £1,250 annual CPD allowance plus 40 paid CPD hours, access to Vetlexicon online resources, support for certificates and advanced learning, world-leading IVC Evidensia Training Centres
  • Memberships & Support: BVA membership, VDS cover, RCVS fees covered
  • Care & Wellbeing Fund: £1,250 annual Care Fund for every vet
  • Lifestyle Perks: Cycle to Work scheme, Green Car scheme (eligibility applies), retail discounts and cashback offers, reduced-cost veterinary care for your own pets
