Receptionist

About the Role

You’ll be the friendly face welcoming clients and their beloved pets at The Village Animal Hospital in Caterham. This is a part-time position (25 hours per week) working a flexible pattern that includes one in two Saturday mornings from 8am–12pm, giving you a manageable schedule that balances work and personal time.

As a receptionist with CVS, you’re joining one of the UK’s largest integrated veterinary services providers. The practice values creating warm, welcoming experiences for every client who walks through the door, and you’ll be central to that mission every single day.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer phones and book appointments for clients
• Respond to enquiries via phone, email, and in person
• Register new clients and manage client records
• Complete insurance forms accurately and efficiently
• Dispense medications under practice guidance
• Process payments and manage transactions
• Provide warm, empathetic support to clients in potentially emotional situations

Requirements

• Previous receptionist experience is essential; veterinary experience is a plus
• Resilient and able to remain calm when handling potentially distressing situations
• Excellent communicator with strong empathy and genuine care for animals
• Proven customer service skills with experience dealing with the public
• Positive attitude and collaborative team player
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management systems
• Right to Work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for this role)
